A major milestone at Olajterv: BIM certification according to ISO 19650
2026. February 9.
Olajterv Engineering Co. Ltd. has reached a significant professional milestone: the company has obtained BIM certification according to the ISO 19650 standard. This is not just another requirement to be met, but a strategically significant step forward in engineering, both domestically and internationally.
ISO 19650 is the international standard for Building Information Modeling, which provides a unified framework for information management throughout the entire project lifecycle. Its introduction and certification means that Olajterv has reached a BIM-ready level not only in technology, but also in its organization, operation, and culture. This achievement is particularly important in the engineering market, where BIM has so far only been used in the design phase and construction of buildings. Olajterv is the first Hungarian and the first engineering company in the region to implement BIM in industrial general design and to have this capability certified by an international organization (NQA). The certification provides a significant competitive advantage in the international engineering market. The direction for development formulated years ago and the high-level of commitment from the management enabled the company to reach a higher professional level with this certification and become part of their daily operations.
Further improvements in quality, deadline compliance and cost efficiency for projects are expected. In addition, the database-based BIM models created by Olajterv can also effectively support day-to-day maintenance and operation processes.
