10 MW capacity electrolysis plant handed over at MOL's Százhalombatta refinery with the contribution of OLAJTERV

2024. April 23.

The MOL Group has reached another milestone: the largest ever electrolysis plant in Central and Eastern Europe, with a capacity of 10 megawatts, has been inaugurated in Százhalombatta. We can now produce green hydrogen without producing any greenhouse gases.

The €22 million investment will make fuel production more sustainable: the plant will reduce the Danube Refinery's carbon dioxide emissions by 25 000 tonnes. This is like taking 5,500 cars off the road. MOL will be able to produce 1,600 tonnes of clean, carbon-neutral green hydrogen per year, and the introduction of this technology will open a new chapter in the hydrogen economy.

OLAJTERV Engineering was also part of the successful project by designing the external connections (OSBL) and site installation.
